District One Hospital District may sell, convey, and transfer management, control, and operation of the hospital and its real and personal property without requiring competitive bidding.

The sale may include tangible and intangible personal property associated with the hospital as part of the negotiated sale price.

Specific real property parcels in Rice County, including hospital grounds, adjacent properties, and condominium units in Johnston Hall are authorized for sale.

Upon determination that sale requirements are met and sufficient funds exist to pay all outstanding bond principal and interest, statutory and home rule charter cities within the district must file a dissolution petition under Minnesota Statutes section 447.38.

Laws 1961, chapter 372 and Laws 1963, chapter 118 (and related 1996 amendments) are repealed upon filing of the dissolution petition.
