Requires eligible recipients of operating assistance under Minnesota Statutes section 174.24 to provide fixed route public transit service free of charge on days when state general elections are held.

Requires the Metropolitan Council to provide regular route transit free of charge on state general election days, applying to operators receiving financial assistance under section 473.388 or operating under section 473.405, subdivision 12.

Appropriates unspecified amounts from the general fund in fiscal year 2015 to the Commissioner of Transportation for allocation to public transit systems to compensate for foregone fare revenues from election day free transit service in calendar year 2014.

Appropriates unspecified amounts from the general fund in fiscal year 2015 to the Metropolitan Council for foregone fare revenues from election day free transit service in calendar year 2014, to be allocated to transit providers based on respective foregone revenues.
