Minnesota Legislature opposes EPA regulations that would expand federal jurisdiction over waters and lands under the 1972 Federal Water Pollution Control (Clean Water) Act without Congressional approval.

Congress has rejected similar expansion proposals with bipartisan support, and the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled at least four times since 2001 to limit federal jurisdiction under the 1972 Act.

Minnesota Legislature requests the governor and the state's U.S. Senators and Representatives publicly express support for this opposition resolution.

Secretary of State shall transmit enrolled copies of this resolution to the President, Congress leadership, relevant Senate and House committees, and Minnesota's congressional delegation.
