Employers may provide earnings statements electronically through three methods: employer-owned computer access during work hours, email to employee's designated address, or text message via covered messaging system with written employee consent.

Employees may request written earnings statements with at least 24 hours notice, and employers must comply with that request on an ongoing basis.

Electronic earnings statements must include employee name, hourly rate, hours worked, gross pay, deductions, net pay, pay period end date, and employer's legal and operating names.

"Covered messaging system" defined as text/graphic/image messaging service provided as part of commercial mobile service under federal law, accessible on the same handset as voice messages.

"Electronic mail address" defined as a destination for sending or delivering electronic mail messages.
