Adopts the Uniform Community Property Rights at Death Act as Minnesota Statutes chapter 519A to govern disposition of community property acquired under laws of other jurisdictions.

Applies to personal property acquired as community property under another jurisdiction's laws and to Minnesota real property acquired with community property proceeds or income.

Upon death of a married person, one-half of applicable community property belongs to the surviving spouse and is not subject to the decedent's will or Minnesota succession laws; the other half belongs to the decedent's estate.

Surviving spouse's one-half interest is exempt from the spouse's elective share rights and is not included in the decedent's net estate subject to elective share provisions.

Establishes procedures for perfecting title to community property through court orders or instruments, with specified deadlines for written demands ranging from 20 to 120 days depending on whether property is held in an estate or trust.
