Requires state commissioners of public safety, corrections, health, human services, education, revenue, commerce, and employment and economic development to appoint representatives for a public informational hearing on the economic costs of violence.

Hearing must address economic impacts including treatment and care for victims, wage losses, employer costs, domestic violence, suicides, firearm accidents, community business losses, criminal justice costs, lost tax revenue, and school security expenses.

The Freedom from Violence Project of Inventing Solutions shall report findings to the legislature by March 15, 2014, with specific summaries of costs related to domestic violence, sexual violence, firearms-related violence, and school violence.

Report must include consultation with and review by commissioners of public safety, corrections, health, human services, education, revenue, commerce, and employment and economic development.

Hearing participants include district court judges, county attorneys, public defenders, police chiefs, municipal and county associations, housing finance agency, and the Minnesota Center Against Violence and Abuse.
