Voids and makes unenforceable any provision in design professional services contracts that requires indemnification for liability caused by negligence or fault of anyone other than the indemnitor or those they are legally liable for.

Defines "design professional services contracts" as contracts where work is performed or supervised by a person licensed under section 326.02 and relates to maintenance or improvement of real property, highways, roads, or bridges.

Exempts indemnification obligations that can be covered by insurance and does not apply to agreements under sections 337.03 or 337.04.

Voids and makes unenforceable any contract provision that subjects Minnesota design professional services contracts to another state's laws or requires dispute resolution to occur outside Minnesota.

Takes effect August 1, 2014, and applies only to contracts or agreements entered into on or after that date.
