Requires employers to provide veteran employees with time off on Veterans Day (November 11) if they would otherwise be scheduled to work, unless providing time off would impact public health/safety or cause significant economic or operational disruption.

Allows employers to provide the day off with or without pay at their discretion.

Requires veteran employees to provide at least 30 days' written notice and submit a federal certificate of release or discharge from active duty (or equivalent documentation) to claim the benefit.

Requires employers to notify employees at least 10 days before Veterans Day whether they will receive paid or unpaid time off.

Takes effect the day following final enactment and proposes new coding in Minnesota Statutes chapter 197.
