Appropriates $250,000 in fiscal year 2015 from the general fund to the Commissioner of Health for a grant to a Somali-based health care organization in Minnesota.

Grant funds must address health inequities experienced by first generation Somali women through culturally specific services.

Services must focus on improving maternal health access, preventive care, reducing infant mortality, and increasing health literacy among Somali women.

Grant recipient must use community-based participatory research to develop and implement Somali women-centered programs with measured health outcome metrics.

Grant recipient must report program outcomes and measured results to the Commissioner of Health by September 1, 2016.
