Add age-appropriate sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention to the required components of school district sexually transmitted infection and disease prevention programs.

Require the Commissioner of Education, in consultation with the Commissioner of Health, to assist districts in developing and implementing programs that include sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention materials.

Mandate that all licensed teachers renewing their continuing license include training on sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention in their renewal requirements.

If a district fails to develop and implement a prevention program, the department must assist the regional service cooperative to develop or implement the program.

Programs must not conflict with existing health and wellness curriculum requirements under Minnesota law.
