Adds "grandchild" to the list of relatives for whom an employee may use personal sick leave benefits for illness or injury care.

Authorizes employees to use sick leave for "safety leave" to provide or receive assistance related to sexual assault, domestic abuse, or stalking for themselves or specified relatives.

Defines "safety leave" purposes with references to specific Minnesota statutes: section 518B.01 for domestic abuse, sections 609.342 to 609.3453 and 609.352 for sexual assault, and section 609.749 for stalking.

Allows employers to limit safety leave and sick leave use for adult relatives (excluding children) to a minimum of 160 hours in any 12-month period.

Prohibits employers from retaliating against employees for requesting or obtaining leave under this section.
