Allows vendees to recover reasonable attorney fees from vendors if the vendee is the prevailing party in a lawsuit for breach of new home warranties under Minnesota Statutes section 327A.02, subdivision 1.

Allows owners to recover reasonable attorney fees from home improvement contractors if the owner is the prevailing party in a lawsuit for breach of home improvement warranties under Minnesota Statutes section 327A.02, subdivision 3.

Maintains existing damage limitations for new home warranty breaches: either the cost to remedy the defect or the difference in dwelling value with and without the defect.

Maintains existing damage limitation for home improvement warranty breaches: limited to the amount necessary to remedy the defect or breach.

Effective the day following final enactment and applies to causes of action pending on or commenced on or after that date.
