Eliminates outdated language from Minnesota Statutes governing the Office of MN.IT Services and the state Chief Information Officer's responsibilities.

Removes provisions authorizing the office to appoint temporary committees and task forces, and removes the office's authority to participate in standards bodies and conferences related to information technology.

Narrows the scope of technology inventory requirements to focus on equipment owned or leased by MN.IT Services rather than all state agencies, with biennial reporting to legislature required by July 1 of even-numbered years.

Simplifies the Chief Information Officer's duties by consolidating and streamlining statutory language regarding information architecture development, agency funding reviews, and system operation oversight.

Repeals three obsolete statutory sections: Minnesota Statutes 2012, sections 16E.02 subdivisions 2 and 3; 16E.03 subdivision 8; and 16E.0475.
