Beginning July 1, 2014, electric utilities must request applicants for interconnection of distributed renewable energy generation to provide nameplate capacity, total preincentive installed cost, energy source, and facility zip code in a commissioner-prescribed format

The Public Utilities Commission commissioner shall develop or identify a system to collect and process utility-reported information and make nonproject-specific data available to the public on a periodic basis in a format determined by the commissioner

Electric utilities are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or quality of information collected and transferred under this subdivision

All information collected remains nonpublic until the commissioner makes it public through the data system

The section takes effect the day following final enactment
