Extends employment protections to state probation officers who are transferred to county employment when counties assume correctional services from the Department of Corrections.

Requires counties hiring transferred state probation officers to treat them as transfers in grade with all benefits previously enjoyed in state service, without examination or loss of salary and accrued leave.

Mandates state service credit for sick leave and vacation accrual purposes, with accrual pausing until benefits fall below county maximum for the position.

Establishes a six-month probationary period for transferred employees, which may be extended, with seniority retained from their previous Department of Corrections unit.

Amends Minnesota Statutes section 244.19, subdivision 1, to add clause (5) addressing the employment transition when counties take over probation services previously provided by the state.
