Clarifies that probationary teachers whose first three years of consecutive employment are interrupted for maternity, paternity, or medical leave and who resume teaching within 12 months are considered to have continuous teaching experience.

Requires probationary teachers to complete at least 120 days of teaching service each year during the probationary period, excluding parent-teacher conferences, workshops, staff development, and absences.

Applies the same probationary employment provisions to both standard school districts and schools in first-class cities.

Both amended sections are effective retroactively from January 1, 2013.
