Requires eligible recipients of operating assistance under Minnesota Statutes section 174.24 to provide fixed route public transit service free of charge on days when state general elections are held

Appropriates funds in fiscal year 2015 from the general fund to the commissioner of transportation for allocation to public transit systems to compensate for foregone fare revenues from free election day service in calendar year 2014

Appropriates funds in fiscal year 2015 from the general fund to the Metropolitan Council for foregone fare revenues from free election day transit service, with the Council allocating amounts to transit providers based on respective foregone revenues
