Appropriates $1,500,000 from the general fund in fiscal year 2014 to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to District One Hospital in Faribault.

Grant funds must be used to stabilize Johnston Hall, a historic building, to preserve its safety and integrity for future renovation and reuse in a cost-efficient manner.

Stabilization work must be based on a current condition assessment and include roof repair or replacement, building envelope repair to prevent moisture penetration, mold and mildew remediation and prevention, and structural stabilization.

The appropriation does not cancel except as provided in Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.642.

Effective date is the day following final enactment.
