MN SF2990

Prohibits government entities from claiming or enforcing copyright interests in government data unless they have express statutory authority to do so.

Allows government entities to enforce copyright or acquire patents for computer software programs or components created by that entity without requiring statutory authority.

Requires computer software programs or patent components acquired by government entities to be treated as trade secret information under Minnesota Statutes section 13.37.

Amends Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 13.03, subdivision 5.
