Changes charter school authorizer performance reviews from every five years to annually, with the commissioner reviewing authorizers in a manner and form determined by the commissioner.

Authorizers that fail to meet section requirements are now subject to mandatory corrective action ("shall") rather than discretionary ("may"), including potential contract termination or suspension of authority to authorize new schools.

Authorizers have 15 business days to request an informal hearing after written notification of findings that may trigger corrective action.

Commissioner may assist charter schools in acquiring a new authorizer if the commissioner terminates a contract between an authorizer and a charter school.
