Amends Minnesota Statutes section 337.05 to prohibit contractual provisions requiring a party to provide insurance coverage for the negligence or intentional acts of other parties, including third parties, declaring such provisions void and against public policy.

Preserves the validity of provisions requiring workers' compensation insurance, construction performance or payment bonds, and project-specific insurance including builder's risk policies and controlled insurance programs.

Preserves the validity of provisions requiring insurance coverage for the promisee's vicarious liability or warranty-imposed liability arising from the promisor's own acts or omissions.

Exempts building and construction contracts for work within fifty feet of public or private railroads regulated by the Federal Railroad Administration from the insurance coverage prohibition.

Effective August 1, 2013, and applies to agreements entered into on or after that date.
