Expands the definition of "wages actually earned and unpaid" to include all time worked at the employee's regular rate or the rate required by law, whichever is greater, rather than only the rate agreed upon in the employment contract.

Requires employee demands for unpaid wages to be in writing but allows the demand to omit the precise amount owed, and permits employees to seek recovery based on any applicable statute, regulation, rule, ordinance, or legal authority requiring higher pay rates.

Removes provisions that previously denied wage protections to employees entrusted with money or property who failed to account for it properly, and instead prohibits employers from making deductions from wages for lost, stolen, or damaged property or other claimed indebtedness except as permitted by section 181.79.

Clarifies that wages must be paid "in the usual manner" of payment rather than "at the usual place" of payment, with mail payment considered effective as of the postmark date.

Makes both amendments effective the day following final enactment for discharged employees under section 181.13 and employees who quit or resign under section 181.14.
