Department of Corrections is authorized to access unemployment insurance data for case planning of offenders sentenced to probation, covering both preprobation and postprobation employment tracking.

Department of Corrections can also access the same data for preconfinement and postconfinement employment tracking of committed offenders for case planning purposes.

This access is added to the existing list of authorized agencies under Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 268.19, subdivision 1, that can receive unemployment insurance data without the subject's consent.

Unemployment insurance data remains classified as private data on individuals or nonpublic data not on individuals and cannot be disclosed except according to district court order or authorized by statute.
