Charter schools must publish annual reports approved by their board of directors containing information on enrollment, attrition, governance, staffing, finances, academic performance, operational performance, innovative practices, and future plans.

Charter school annual reports must be distributed to the commissioner, authorizer, school employees, parents, and legal guardians, and posted on the school's website as public data.

Authorizers must compile individual charter school reports into an annual portfolio report submitted to the commissioner and public, including academic and financial performance of all operating schools and status of all charter schools in their portfolio.

Authorizers must include in their portfolio report information about oversight and evaluation processes for any charter schools performing in the bottom 25 percent on both the state's multiple measures rating and focus rating.

Charter schools that limit admission to at-risk students, serve 70 percent or more at-risk students, or serve 50 percent or more special education students are exempt from the poor performance reporting requirement.
