Prohibits local units of government from requiring a minimum wage different from the state minimum wage set in Minnesota Statutes section 177.24, effective the day following final enactment.

Exempts from the uniform minimum wage requirement: wages paid to local government employees, wages for contract services provided to local government, and wages for services funded in whole or in part by local government financial assistance.

Defines "local unit of government" broadly to include cities, towns, counties, Metropolitan Council, Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission, Metropolitan Airports Commission, and other metropolitan agencies and political subdivisions.

Prohibits local units of government from requiring private employers to provide benefits, terms of employment, working conditions, or attendance/leave policies that exceed federal or state law requirements.

Both provisions are effective the day following final enactment and apply retroactively to local government requirements established before, on, or after the enactment date.
