Department of Education must convene a stakeholder work group beginning no later than September 1, 2015, to review career and technical educator licenses and recommend changes to licensure requirements.

Work group must include representatives from the Board of Teaching, colleges and universities with board-approved teacher preparation programs, STEM programs such as Project Lead the Way, secondary school administrators, and other interested groups.

Commissioner of Education must report findings by January 15, 2016, to legislative committees with jurisdiction over K-12 and higher education.

Report must include recommendations for changes to career and technical educator licensure requirements and strategies to increase access to licensed career and technical educators in Minnesota.
