Manufacturers prohibited from selling pesticides containing clothianidin, imidacloprid, thiamethoxam, dinotefuran, acetamiprid, thiacloprid, nithiazine, or fipronil effective January 1, 2017, with restriction expiring July 1, 2022.

Sale, offer for sale, and use of the same eight pesticide active ingredients banned statewide effective July 1, 2018, with restriction expiring July 1, 2023.

Commissioner of Agriculture must report to legislature by January 15, 2022 on peer-reviewed evidence regarding whether neonicotinoids and fipronil cause adverse effects on honeybees, native insect pollinators, and birds.

Report must also address impacts, costs, and benefits to Minnesota's agricultural economy, including pollination services and honey production, from resuming use of these insecticides.
