Allows pharmacists to dispense up to a 90-day supply of prescription drugs after a patient completes an initial 30-day supply and returns for a refill, provided the pharmacist exercises professional judgment.

Requires that the total quantity of dosage units dispensed not exceed the remaining refills authorized by the prescriber.

Waives the initial 30-day supply requirement if the prescription has previously been filled with a 90-day supply.

Prohibits pharmacists from exceeding prescribed dosage units if the prescriber specifies medical necessity restrictions on the prescription.

Prohibits 90-day supplies for controlled substances as defined in Minnesota Statutes section 152.01, subdivision 4.
