Filing fees for orders for protection are waived for both petitioners and respondents under Minnesota Statutes section 518B.01

Court administrators, sheriffs, and law enforcement/corrections officers must perform service of process duties without charge to the petitioner

Courts must direct payment of reasonable service of process costs when served by private process server if sheriff or law enforcement is unavailable, or if service is made by publication, without requiring petitioner to apply under section 563.01

The provision allowing courts to direct respondents to pay petitioner's filing fees and costs of service is eliminated from statute
