Commissioner of Higher Education must develop and distribute informational materials about federal loan forgiveness programs, including a one-page letter, detailed fact sheet, and frequently asked questions document about the public service loan forgiveness program.

Commissioner must make informational materials available on their website and verify biennially that materials contain current information, updating any inaccurate or outdated content.

Public service employers (excluding federal, tribal governments, and tribal colleges) must provide employees with loan forgiveness program information by January 1, 2017, and annually thereafter in written or electronic form.

Employers must provide new employees hired on or after January 1, 2017 with informational materials within two weeks of their first day of employment.

Employers must provide employees with a copy of the employment certification form upon request.
