Commissioner of agriculture must establish and maintain a farm safety program to provide information to farmers, their families, and hired workers about safety challenges.

Commissioner must provide a clearinghouse of relevant safety information via the department's website and actively promote the program to farmers and farm organizations.

Commissioner must report program activities and accomplishments annually by February 1 to the chairs and ranking minority members of legislative committees with jurisdiction over agriculture policy and finance.

$100,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of agriculture in fiscal year 2017 to implement the farm safety program.
