Extends the pilot project duration from June 30, 2018 to June 30, 2021, allowing up to five years total for school districts and charter schools to collaborate on innovative education programs and resource sharing.

Expands eligible partnerships to include combinations of school districts, charter schools, postsecondary institutions, and employers working together to improve career and college readiness.

Allows participating schools to use alternative assessments in place of Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments and permits students to substitute applied mathematics or STEM courses for algebra II requirements.

Increases the number of authorized pilot project participants from six to eight qualified applicants through the 2020-2021 school year and requires biennial evaluation reports by February 1 of odd-numbered years.

Changes interim project report deadline from February 1, 2016 to March 30, 2019, and final report deadline from February 1, 2019 to 2022.
