Amends Minnesota Statutes section 169.791 to allow insurance identification cards to be displayed in electronic format as defined in section 65B.482, subdivision 1.

Drivers must carry proof of insurance in any of three forms: insurance identification card (including electronic), written statement, or insurance policy.

Using an electronic device to display proof of insurance does not give peace officers consent to access other contents of the device.

Peace officers are immune from liability for damage to electronic devices used to display proof of insurance unless the officer fails to exercise due care in handling the device.

Effective the day following final enactment.
