Amends Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 97B.086 to modify restrictions on possessing night vision or thermal imaging equipment while hunting or carrying firearms and bows.

Establishes exceptions allowing unloaded firearms in gun cases that fully enclose the firearm and are stored in a closed vehicle trunk, or in the rearmost vehicle location if no trunk exists.

Permits completely encased or unstrung bows in closed vehicle trunks, or in the rearmost vehicle location if no trunk is available.

Exempts night vision or thermal imaging equipment possessed by peace officers, military personnel exercising their duties, and firearm or ammunition manufacturer employees testing products.
