• Gasoline-powered motorboats with enclosed accommodation compartments must display carbon monoxide warning labels near the aft reboarding area, galley, and steering station; dealers must ensure labels are affixed before sale completion.

• All state-sponsored and state-approved boating safety courses must include information about carbon monoxide poisoning dangers while on or behind motorboats and prevention methods.

• Violations result in safety warnings only, with no monetary penalties; effective date is May 1, 2017.
