• Commissioner of employment and economic development shall implement an energy sector jobs initiative to maximize job opportunities in the energy sector.

• Commissioner shall consult with Minnesota Energy Center to analyze jobs demand over the next ten years, identify training needs, provide breakdown of minority employment levels, and develop a plan for increasing minority participation.

• Commissioner shall partner with an outside organization previously funded by the commissioner to conduct a feasibility analysis for developing a multipurpose energy sector training facility located in a designated federal Promise Zone within one-half mile of current or planned regional transit routes.

• An unspecified amount from the workforce development fund is appropriated in fiscal year 2017 to the commissioner of employment and economic development to implement the energy sector jobs initiative.
