Appropriates an unspecified amount from the general fund in fiscal year 2017 to the commissioner of public safety for emergency responder training

Commissioner shall select and retain a trainer to instruct law enforcement, firefighters, and EMTs on responding to emergency encounters and crisis situations involving individuals with autism spectrum disorder and related disabilities

Commissioner must consider trainer's Peace Officer Standards and Training Board qualifications and demonstrated knowledge of effective response methods when making selection, and shall consult with the Peace Officer Standards and Training Board and Minnesota Board of Firefighter Training and Education

Commissioner must report by February 15, 2017 to relevant senate and house committees on the selected trainer, training conducted, number of emergency responders trained, and their departments

Appropriation remains available until expended
