Amends Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 126C.10, subdivision 28 to modify the definition of "equity region" for education finance purposes.

Removes the requirement that a district's administrative office be located in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, or Washington County on January 1, 2012 to qualify as part of the metro equity region.

Establishes that districts with any area located within the seven-county metropolitan area are part of the metro equity region, while all other districts are part of the rural equity region.

Effective for fiscal year 2017 and later.
