Amends Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 626.90, subdivision 3, regarding tribal peace officer licensing and authority.

Tribal bands that comply with subdivision 2 requirements and have a mutual aid/cooperative agreement with Mille Lacs County sheriff may appoint peace officers with the same powers as local government peace officers.

Tribal bands that meet subdivision 2 requirements but lack a mutual aid/cooperative agreement with Mille Lacs County sheriff may continue appointing peace officers who are eligible for initial or continued licensing through the Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training.

Clarifies that provisions addressing professional licensing status do not expand or restrict the substantive law enforcement authority of tribal bands or their peace officers under other provisions of the statute.
