School districts must adopt and implement policies to prevent and address child sexual abuse, effective for the 2015-2016 school year and later.

District policies may include age-appropriate curriculum for prekindergarten through grade 5, staff development training, parent information on warning signs, counseling services, and methods to increase awareness of child sexual abuse.

An advisory task force on preventing child sexual abuse is established with members from the legislature, state commissioners (education, human services, health, public safety), and representatives from education organizations and child abuse prevention groups.

The task force must recommend to the education commissioner and legislature how schools and other circumstances can reduce child sexual abuse in Minnesota, with recommendations due by February 15, 2016, and the task force expiring on February 16, 2016.

Task force members serve without compensation and are not reimbursed for expenses.
