Authorizes creation of trusts to provide care for animals alive during the grantor's lifetime, with termination upon the death of the animal or last surviving animal if multiple animals are covered

Allows enforcement of animal care trusts by a person appointed in the trust document or by a court-appointed person if none is specified, with interested parties able to request court appointment or removal

Restricts trust property use to the intended animal care purpose, but allows courts to redirect excess funds beyond what is needed for animal care

Directs unexpended or excess trust property to pass according to trust terms or, if no provision exists, to the grantor's heirs-at-law as if the grantor died intestate in Minnesota

Makes irrevocable inter vivos animal trusts subject to Minnesota Statutes section 501C.1206 regarding public health programs and trusts
