S.F. No. 1816 - Uniform Voidable Transactions Act

• Enacts amendments to Minnesota's Uniform Fraudulent Transfer Act based on recommendations from the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws, renaming it the "Uniform Voidable Transactions Act."

• Updates definitions and terminology throughout sections 513.41-513.51, including adding "electronic," "record," and "sign" definitions to modernize language for contemporary transactions.

• Clarifies rules for determining when transfers are voidable, distinguishing between transfers made with actual intent to defraud versus those lacking reasonably equivalent value where debtor is insolvent.

• Establishes new provisions for series organizations and their protected series to be treated as separate persons for purposes of voidable transaction claims.

• Applies effective August 1, 2015, prospectively only to transfers made or obligations incurred on or after that date, with no retroactive application.
