Courts must consider the reasonableness of attorney fees in relation to the amount of damages awarded when a statute provides for attorney fees to a prevailing party.

If a party rejects an offer of judgment under Rule 68 of the Rules of Civil Procedure and fails to obtain a verdict exceeding the offer (excluding attorney fees), no attorney fees may be awarded for work performed after the offer was served.

A party rejecting an offer of judgment must disclose accumulated attorney fees as of the offer's service date within the time period specified by Rule 68.

The law takes effect August 1, 2015, and applies only to actions commenced on or after that date.
