Amends Minnesota Statutes section 609.065 to clarify when intentional taking of life is justified, specifically when necessary to resist or prevent offenses that expose a person to great bodily harm or death, regardless of location.

Permits use of all force and means, including deadly force, when a person in good faith believes it is required to succeed in defense.

Eliminates the duty to retreat by specifying a person is not required to retreat and may continue defensive actions against an assailant until the danger has ended.

Applies retroactively to acts committed on or after the day following final enactment.
