Amends Laws 2015, chapter 71, article 1, section 125 to extend the legislative task force on child protection and add new duties including reviewing alternatives to law enforcement removing children and clarifying the definition of "substantial child endangerment" by January 1, 2017

Expands task force membership from four legislators to include six House members (three from majority party, three from minority party) and six Senate members (three appointed by majority leader, three by minority leader)

Task force shall meet at least quarterly with rotating chair leadership between House and Senate, and must issue annual reports to the legislature and governor containing progress updates, legislative recommendations, and funding needs

Authorizes creation of a work group to review the Minnesota Assessment of Parenting Children and Youth tool used for determining Northstar Care for Children supplemental payment benefits, with report due December 1, 2016

Directs revisor of statutes to recodify the Maltreatment of Minors Act (Minnesota Statutes, section 626.556) to create consistency, eliminate redundancy, and reorganize related statutes for bill introduction in 2017 legislative session

Task force expires December 31, 2020
