Amends Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 268.19, subdivision 1 to expand Department of Corrections access to unemployment insurance employment data.

Authorizes Department of Corrections to access employment data for "internal research" in addition to existing "case planning" purposes for offenders on probation and in confinement.

Permits data access for preprobation, probation, and postprobation employment tracking of offenders sentenced to probation and preconfinement and postconfinement employment tracking of committed offenders.

Allows Department of Corrections to conduct research on effectiveness of employment programming for offenders in the community using unemployment insurance data.

Data remains protected and confidential; access is limited to the specific purposes of employment tracking and program evaluation research.
