Appropriates $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2017 from the general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to the Construction Careers Foundation for the construction career pathway initiative.

Grant funds must increase construction industry exposure activities for middle and high school youth, parents, and counselors to reach diverse demographics and expand multicraft curriculum programs statewide.

Requires grant funds to increase summer internship opportunities, support graduating seniors in obtaining construction employment, and enhance industrywide marketing about construction careers to youth and young adults.

Mandates that programs and services give priority to economically disadvantaged or historically underrepresented individuals and groups, including women, veterans, and members of minority and immigrant groups.

Funds are a onetime appropriation available until June 30, 2019, and must support employment of young adults in the construction industry while ensuring they reflect Minnesota's diverse workforce.
