Appropriates $1,500,000 from the general fund in fiscal year 2017 to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a grant to Latino Communities United in Service (CLUES).

Funds shall support culturally tailored programs addressing employment and education skill gaps for working parents and underserved youth, including job skills training, family support systems to reduce generational poverty, and youth programming for educational advancement and career pathways.

Requires at least $500,000 of the appropriation to be directed toward programming in greater Minnesota.

CLUES must submit a report to legislative chairs and ranking minority members with primary jurisdiction over jobs by March 1, 2018, including program type, duration, attendance, and quantifiable success measures.

Appropriation is available until spent.
