Law enforcement agencies that authorize peace officers to wear portable recording devices cannot prevent officers from reviewing recordings prior to completing their final report or making a statement about an incident.

Agencies are prohibited from adopting policies that restrict officers' access to body camera recordings before submitting reports or providing incident-related statements.

Adds new statute 626.8473 to Minnesota Statutes, chapter 626, to codify portable recording device policy requirements.
