Amends Minnesota Statutes 2014, section 138.053 to permit cities and towns to annually appropriate funds for historical societies.

Allows city and town governing bodies to appropriate not more than 0.02418 percent of estimated market value from their general fund or other revenues for historical societies.

Specifies that funds may be paid to the historical society of the respective city, town, or county for promotion of historical work and defraying expenses of carrying on historical work.

Requires any historical society receiving city or town funds to be affiliated with and approved by the Minnesota Historical Society.

Takes effect the day following final enactment.
